Ryan Yunkers
Executive Director
Hi, I'm Ryan Yunkers, the Executive Director at the facility. I think it's an amazing asset to have a center of this quality in this community. I am excited to be a part of this organization and community! I grew up in Mellen, Wisconsin, but have lived in the Mankato area since 2002 with my wife Molly and two sons, Ethan and Connor. I completed my undergraduate and graduate degrees at UW-Stevens Point. I recently went on to St. Cloud State for my doctorate. My goal is to help the Rec Center serve the people in this area by being the center for recreational and community events, and to help the staff and the members who walk through the door live happier, healthier lives. I'm a lifelong advocate of recreation and fitness, so you'll likely see me swimming in the Rec pool, working out, or even biking in from Mankato.

Marcie Larson
Family Programs Manager
Hi! I’m Marcie Larson the Family Programs Manager. I coordinate the Fit Kids Program, Senior Events, and Special Events here at the Lake Crystal Recreation Center. I grew up in Minnesota Lake, MN. I attended Maple River High School where after graduating I continued my education at Minnesota State University, Mankato. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Family Studies in 2013. I now live in the Mankato area with my Husband Paul, my Daughters Braelyn and Shay, and our dog Briggs. We are a very active family. We enjoy the outdoors, sports, and traveling. My passion is to work with families and children. I am excited to have all of those opportunities here at the Rec.

Renee Dahm
Health/Wellness & Marketing Manager
Hi Everyone, My name is Renee Dahm. You will see me helping at the front desk, teaching land and water classes and in my office working on marketing materials. I was born in Mankato MN and lived there until I was 18 years old when I moved to Minneapolis for school. I soon met my husband, Kristian, and we had two children, Kaylie and Alex. We fell in love with Lake Crystal while spending time here visiting family and decided to make it our home in August 2015! Outside of the rec center In my free time I enjoy yoga, running, swimming, group fitness, cooking, camping, and spending time with friends and family.

Katie Murphy
Manager of Aquatics and Rentals
Hi, I'm Katie Murphy. I'm the Aquatics, Rentals, and Health & Fitness manager here at the rec center. I grew up in New Prague, MN and went to college at Minnesota State University, Mankato. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services with an emphasis in Leisure Planning Management. I've worked in Aquatics for 6 years and have experience as a lifeguard and a manager. I love to stay active by working out and participating in outdoor activities such as hiking and kayaking. As a student at MSU I have had a few opportunities to work with the Lake Crystal Area Rec Center and I absolutely loved it. I'm very excited to be a part of this community, and to help people achieve their recreational and fitness goals.

Bethany Maxwell
Membership & Front Desk Manager

Hi! I'm Bethany Maxwell and you will find me most often behind the Front Desk greeting our members or working on memberships. I grew up in southern Minnesota and attended Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato. After college I moved to Arizona for 9 years, but then moved back to the Lake Crystal area in 2014. I currently live outside of Garden City with my 3 children - Solomon, Isabel & Mercy. You'll often find us working out together at the rec center.
